Its raining here in Nicaragua!!! (Which by the way is the most amazing place in the world and you should come and visit us) Playa Gigante (our home) has really been in need of rain, and so has our family…it has been soooo hot!!! There are some ups and downs about the rain, and there is DEFINITELY a change, so I thought this would be worth writing about.
Nicaragua (I think) has been in a drought for a while. Though it is not even close to as big as the one in California, it may be deadlier because the people here get water from their wells, and the wells are not providing much water. But, luckily that should all change now, because we are now in the rainy season so people will have plenty. This day (the first rainy day) is a huge one for most of our community. For example, tomorrow that they are celebrating the first day of rain tomorrow with a festival and dances.
UPS AND DOWNS
Obviously most people don’t like rain. Its cold, you can’t go outside, and there is not much to do. But not in Playa Gigante! Here, there is lots of new fun things to do, and some bad things…
- Mud to play in
- No drought
- prettier landscape
- fresh air
- not so hot
- Dirtier ocean
- Uglier day (but not by much)
- You feel lazy (hehe, or at least my Dad does)
